Whether or not you are Jewish, you will understand why Sukkot is an apt time to think about kids in the child welfare system. During Sukkot, Jews leave the comfort and safety of their homes and enter the sukkah—a flimsy, temporary structure—spending a week really feeling our human vulnerability and life's impermanence, a feeling most of us do not have to experience constantly. But kids in the foster care system have no respite from this sense of vulnerability—unless we act. Come learn how we can, together, give kids the families and communities—the loving support—we all need in this world.
